Exploring the Serene Beauty of Konkan: A Memorable Journey
Our enthusiastic friend, Sharad Desai, his wife Varsha who is excellent at planning any trip, I, Ramakant Kulkarni, and my wife Sandhya, Shrikant Deshpande, and his wife Sharayu, recently embarked on a journey to discover the breathtaking beauty of Konkan.
Devbag: A Tranquil Retreat
Our journey began with our arrival at Devbag, where we were greeted by the soothing sound of waves crashing against the shore. Despite our fatigue from the journey, we couldn’t resist the allure of the beach and embarked on a morning walk, soaking in the beauty of the crystal-clear sea and azure skies.
Our day was filled with adventure as we embarked on a boating trip at Curley Creek, exploring twelve picturesque seashores and learning about the rich natural heritage of Devbag from our knowledgeable boatman, Daji Metekar.
In the evening, we witnessed a mesmerizing sunset at Bhogwe Beach, marking the end of a perfect day in Devbag.
Nature’s Embrace in Walawal
Our next destination was Walawal, a village steeped in history and natural beauty. Accompanied by our friend Sharad Desai, we embarked on a journey through his childhood memories, visiting landmarks such as the Laxminarayan Temple and the serene Curley River.
One of the highlights of our trip was visiting Sharad’s relative Rajivadekar’s house, where we were treated to a lavish feast of traditional Konkani dishes. The flavors and aromas of dishes like Alu Vadi and sol kadhi transported us to culinary heaven.
Tranquility at Nivati Beach
Our exploration continued at Nivati Beach, where we were greeted by the sight of golden rocks and pristine sands stretching as far as the eye could see. With the beach all to ourselves, we reveled in the serenity of the surroundings, creating memories that would last a lifetime.
Adventures at Chivla Beach
Our journey concluded with a visit to Chivla Beach, where we embraced the waves and indulged in the joys of seaside relaxation. Despite the scorching summer heat, our spirits remained high as we basked in the beauty of Konkan.
Throughout our trip, we fondly remembered our dear friends Vishnu Ajrekar and Deepa, whose absence was felt deeply. Their presence would have surely added to the joy and camaraderie of our journey.
In conclusion, our trip to Konkan was a delightful blend of adventure, exploration, and relaxation. From the tranquil beaches of Devbag to the cultural richness of Walawal, each moment was filled with wonder and awe. As we bid farewell to this enchanting region, we carry with us memories that will be cherished for years to come.
